Puyol rarely shirked a challenge whilst sporting Barcelona's famous colours, and it appears the 41-year-old is still no different.
Padel games typically take place in enclosed courts, which are a third of the size of a standard tennis court. The sport originates from Mexico, and makes use of the glass walls to play a variety of shots, in a similar vein to squash.
But it appears that Puyol's competitive streak had finally taken him one step too far, causing the Spaniard to crash into the pane.

According to reports from Spain, Puyol has been offered the opportunity to become 'general manager' at Barcelona.
The role would be the Spaniard's second position of power at the Nou Camp, following his previous experience working alongsidedirector of football Andoni Zubizarreta in 2014.
Puyol also recently revealed he had twice rejected Real Madrid's advances during his playing career.
